Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef (at least 80/20 for flavor)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 packet (approx. 1 ounce/28g) taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water
- 1 large bag (approx. 10-12 oz/280-340g) tortilla chips (sturdy restaurant-style recommended)
- 2 cups (225g) shredded cheddar cheese (or a Mexican cheese blend)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) pickled jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
- 1 cup (240ml) guacamole (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) salsa (your favorite kind)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup (60ml) sliced green onions
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Spread a layer of tortilla chips in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches).
- Sprinkle half the cheese evenly over the chips, then spoon half of the seasoned ground beef over the cheese. Top with half of the jalapeños. Repeat layers.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 4-6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye – air fryers vary!
- Carefully remove the nachos from the air fryer basket (it will be hot!). Transfer to a serving platter and top with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, cilantro, and green onions. Serve immediately.
