Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- [2 cups semisweet chocolate chips]
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy—about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix just until combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft (they will continue cooking as they cool).
- Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for about5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
