Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • Salt (for boiling water)
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for sprinkling)
  • Additional herbs like oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until onions are translucent.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. n a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and optional herbs until smooth.
  7. n a large mixing bowl, combine cooked spaghetti with meat sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese.
