Ingredients:

  • 4 (6-ounce) crappie fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Dish: Lightly grease your baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  3. Season the Fillets: Place the crappie fillets in the baking dish. Drizzle olive oil or melted butter over each fillet. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15–20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of at least 145°F (63°C).
  5. Add Lemon Juice: Once cooked, remove from oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over each fillet.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately alongside your favorite side dishes like rice pilaf or steamed vegetables.
