Ingredients:

  • 1/2 recipe homemade pizza dough (or use 1 lb. store-bought pizza dough)
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil, divided
  • 1 Tablespoon (8 g) cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup (127 g) pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (6 oz or 168 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) cooked ham or Canadian bacon, sliced or chopped
  • 1/2 cup (82 g) pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions:

  1. If using store-bought frozen pizza dough, ensure it is thawed.
  2. Preheat your oven to 475°F (246°C) and allow it to heat for at least 15–20 minutes, especially if using a pizza stone.
  3. Lightly grease a large baking sheet or pizza pan with ½ tablespoon of olive oil, then sprinkle lightly with cornmeal for extra crunch.
  4. Once your homemade dough is ready, punch it down to release air bubbles.
  5. Divide the dough in half; freeze half for later use per your original recipes freezing instructions.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, flatten one portion of the dough into a disc using floured hands or a rolling pin.
  7. Place this disc onto your prepared pan and stretch it gently into a 12-inch circle, about ½ inch thick.
  8. If you encounter resistance while stretching, let it rest covered for 5–10 minutes, then try again.
  9. Create a lip around the edge by pinching up the sides if desired.
