- 1/2 recipe homemade pizza dough (or use 1 lb. store-bought pizza dough)
- 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil, divided
- 1 Tablespoon (8 g) cornmeal
- 1/2 cup (127 g) pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 and 1/2 cups (6 oz or 168 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (75 g) cooked ham or Canadian bacon, sliced or chopped
- 1/2 cup (82 g) pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
- 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions:
- If using store-bought frozen pizza dough, ensure it is thawed.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (246°C) and allow it to heat for at least 15–20 minutes, especially if using a pizza stone.
- Lightly grease a large baking sheet or pizza pan with ½ tablespoon of olive oil, then sprinkle lightly with cornmeal for extra crunch.
- Once your homemade dough is ready, punch it down to release air bubbles.
- Divide the dough in half; freeze half for later use per your original recipes freezing instructions.
- On a lightly floured surface, flatten one portion of the dough into a disc using floured hands or a rolling pin.
- Place this disc onto your prepared pan and stretch it gently into a 12-inch circle, about ½ inch thick.
- If you encounter resistance while stretching, let it rest covered for 5–10 minutes, then try again.
- Create a lip around the edge by pinching up the sides if desired.
