Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
- 2 large eggs (approximately 100g)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) (85g)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. The mixture should be glossy.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into 16 squares and serve.
