Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (80g) cake mix (preferably vanilla or funfetti)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (180g) chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cake mix, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for better handling.
  7. Scoop dough onto a prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers should look slightly underbaked.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
