Ingredients:
- 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (240ml) milk (whole or non-dairy)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup (120ml) store-bought or homemade caramel sauce
- Sea salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Ensure blend is homogenous.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined; small lumps are acceptable—do not overmix.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and coat lightly with non-stick spray or butter. Pour batter onto skillet in desired size.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side (another 2-3 minutes).
- Drizzle pancakes or waffles with warm caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
