Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (whole or non-dairy)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120ml) store-bought or homemade caramel sauce
  • Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Ensure blend is homogenous.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined; small lumps are acceptable—do not overmix.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and coat lightly with non-stick spray or butter. Pour batter onto skillet in desired size.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side (another 2-3 minutes).
  6. Drizzle pancakes or waffles with warm caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
