- 8 ounces (225g) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 ounces (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (120ml) ale (such as a pale ale or amber ale)
- 1 medium apple (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup (40g) finely chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ale, mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add both grated cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir until cheese is coated with the flour, ale, and spice mixture.
- Fold in the diced apple and red onion. Ensure even distribution.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared skillet or dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley (if using). Serve immediately.
