Ingredients:
- 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls or similar soft rolls)
- 1 lb (about 450g) Thinly Sliced Roast Beef (Deli style)
- 8 slices (approx. 4 oz) Swiss Cheese
- 1 cup Caramelized Onions (Optional)
- 4 Tbsp (56 g) Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Onion Flakes
- 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce (for topping)
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 3 cups High-Quality Beef Broth or Stock
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce (for jus)
- Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Au Jus: Combine 3 cups beef broth, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and any soaked porcini mushrooms/liquid in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and reduce for 10–15 minutes to deepen the flavour. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Slice the entire block of slider rolls horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves as intact as possible. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the filling evenly over the bottom buns: Half the Swiss cheese, all the roast beef (folding lightly), the caramelized onions (if using), and the remaining Swiss cheese.
- Place the top halves of the rolls securely on top of the filling.
- Make the Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together the 4 Tbsp melted butter, garlic powder, onion flakes, thyme, and 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
- Brush the entire surface of the top buns generously with the herb butter mixture.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling, and the tops are golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then carefully slice the sliders apart with a sharp knife.
- Serve the French Dip Sliders immediately alongside small bowls of the hot Au Jus for dipping.
