Ingredients:
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling (600g)
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (225g)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (115g)
- 1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix (432g)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (115g)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Drizzle the melted butter over the cream cheese and stir. Drop dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the cherry filling.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese and cherry layers, making sure to cover everything.
- Drizzle the remaining melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbly. Check for doneness with a toothpick inserted into the centre – it should come out mostly clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
