Ingredients:

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix (432g)
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling (595g)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113g)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) (60g)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the cherry pie filling.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the cake mix (optional).
  5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix and nuts.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbly.
  7. Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Serve warm.
