Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced (approx. 200g)
  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (150g) ice cubes
  • Slices of banana (for garnish)
  • Dark chocolate shavings or chips (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (dairy or non-dairy, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the bananas.
  2. In the blender, add sliced bananas, almond milk, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth. If its too thick, add a bit more almond milk.
  4. Add the ice cubes to the blender. Blend again until the smoothie is chilled and frothy.
  5. Taste the smoothie; if desired, add more sweetener and blend again.
  6. Pour the smoothie into glasses. Garnish with banana slices, chocolate shavings, or whipped cream if desired. Enjoy immediately!
