Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (about 4 medium) apples, peeled and sliced (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup (100g) fresh cranberries (or frozen, thawed)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened and cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (50g) rolled oats

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch.
  3. Toss until fruits are evenly coated.
  4. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  6. Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Stir in oats and vanilla extract.
  8. Evenly sprinkle the crumb topping over the fruit filling.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
