Ingredients:

  • 1 cup steel cut oats (160g)
  • 3 ½ cups water (840ml)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional; 15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (3g)
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • Sliced bananas
  • Chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Instant Pot: Place the inner pot inside the Instant Pot and add the steel cut oats. Measure and add the water.
  2. Mix Oat Ingredients: Stir in maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Set Up Pot-in-Pot: In an oven-safe bowl, add a small amount of water (about 1-2 tablespoons) for the pot-in-pot method. Place this bowl on top of the oatmeal mixture in the Instant Pot.
  4. Pressure Cook: Secure the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick-release any remaining pressure.
  5. Stir and Serve: Carefully remove the inner bowl and stir the steel cut oats. Portion into bowls, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
