Ingredients:
- 1 cup Steel Cut Oats
- 2 cups Milk or Dairy Alternative
- 1/2 cup Plain or Greek Yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
- 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup or Honey
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions:
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In your chosen container(s) (medium bowl or 2 individual jars), mix the steel cut oats, chia seeds, and salt thoroughly.
- Whisk Wet Ingredients: In a separate small bowl, lightly whisk the liquid (milk), yogurt, sweetener, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine & Mix: Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir vigorously for about 60 seconds to ensure no clumps remain at the bottom.
- Refrigerate: Cover the container(s) tightly. Place immediately in the refrigerator for a minimum of 8 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the Overnight Steel Cut Oats to hydrate.
- Check Consistency (Morning): In the morning, check the texture. If it's too thick, add a splash (1–3 tablespoons) of extra milk until it reaches your preferred consistency.
- Serve: Serve cold, or gently warm in the microwave or on the hob if preferred. Top with your favourite additions like fruit, nuts, or extra syrup.
