Ingredients:
- 5 Tablespoons (71g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (250g) creamy peanut butter (such as Skippy or Jif)
- 1 cup (120g) confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1/3 cup (80ml) heavy cream, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and creamy (about 2 minutes).
- With the mixer running on low speed, add the peanut butter, sifted confectioners' sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt to the bowl.
- Increase the mixer speed to high and beat for 3 full minutes.
- If the frosting is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream at a time until desired consistency is reached. If the frosting is too thin, add up to 1/4 cup of sifted confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Give it a taste! Adjust for sweetness or saltiness as needed.
- Frost immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Bring to room temperature before using.
