Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 2 tbsp Unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 pinch Sea salt
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp Pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the cocoa powder, maple syrup, sea salt, and 2 tablespoons of the milk until a thick, glossy mahogany paste forms.
  2. Slowly pour in the remaining milk and the heavy cream while continuing to whisk. Increase the heat to medium and heat until steaming (small bubbles at the edges), ensuring it does not reach a rolling boil.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat. Whisk in the chocolate chips and vanilla extract until the chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Pour into mugs and serve immediately.
