Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes (about 2 pounds or 900 grams)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (45 ml)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (5 g)
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (2 g)
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Scrub potatoes under cold water. Cut potatoes into even-sized sticks (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick).
- Place cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch, promoting crispiness.
- Drain and pat the fries dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (if using). Ensure they are not crowded.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool briefly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.
