Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, minced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 loaf white pullman bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Slice the cucumber into translucent rounds. Lay them in a single layer on paper towels and sprinkle with kosher salt. Let sit for 10 minutes, then pat firmly dry with paper towels until matte and non-sticky.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of butter on high for 3 minutes until pale and fluffy. Fold in minced dill, chives, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lightly butter each slice of bread to create a moisture barrier. Spread a generous, even layer of the whipped cream cheese from edge to edge.
  4. Layer the dried cucumber slices in an overlapping pattern on the cream cheese. Top with a second slice of bread.
  5. Using a serrated knife, remove the crusts and slice each sandwich into three equal fingers or small triangles.
