Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, minced
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 English cucumber
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 loaf white pullman bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
Instructions:
- Slice the cucumber into translucent rounds. Lay them in a single layer on paper towels and sprinkle with kosher salt. Let sit for 10 minutes, then pat firmly dry with paper towels until matte and non-sticky.
- Beat the softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of butter on high for 3 minutes until pale and fluffy. Fold in minced dill, chives, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Lightly butter each slice of bread to create a moisture barrier. Spread a generous, even layer of the whipped cream cheese from edge to edge.
- Layer the dried cucumber slices in an overlapping pattern on the cream cheese. Top with a second slice of bread.
- Using a serrated knife, remove the crusts and slice each sandwich into three equal fingers or small triangles.
