Ingredients:

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix (430 g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (113 g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) (90 g)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) (75 g)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well-blended.
  3. Gradually add in the chocolate cake mix. Mix until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts, if using.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but the center is still soft. Cookies should look slightly puffed and not overly dark.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
