Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
