Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar

- ½ cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh strawberry puree
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the donut pan lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Transfer the batter into a piping bag or use a spoon to fill each donut cavity about ¾ full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat together powdered sugar, softened butter, strawberry puree, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Dip or spread the frosting over the cooled donuts and allow them to set.
