Ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes (about 1.5 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for added flavor)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key to achieving crispy fries.
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes.
- Cut them into even sticks, about ¼ inch thick, to ensure they bake evenly.
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the sweet potato sticks to the bowl with the seasoning mixture. Toss until all fries are evenly coated.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the seasoned sweet potato fries in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through cooking time for even crispness.
- Once baked to perfection, remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy plain or with your optional dipping sauce!
