Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes (about 1.5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for added flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key to achieving crispy fries.
  2. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes.
  3. Cut them into even sticks, about ¼ inch thick, to ensure they bake evenly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Add the sweet potato sticks to the bowl with the seasoning mixture. Toss until all fries are evenly coated.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the seasoned sweet potato fries in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through cooking time for even crispness.
  8. Once baked to perfection, remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy plain or with your optional dipping sauce!
