Ingredients:
- 1 cup (100g) rolled oats
- ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (90g) dark chocolate chips or chunks
- ½ cup (75g) chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture until well incorporated.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to completely cool.
