Ingredients:
- 1 (9-inch) pre-made pie crust
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, for dusting
- 6 ounces bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- Pinch of salt, to taste
- Pinch of black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5). Lightly dust the pre-made pie crust with flour and gently press it into the pie dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and milk until well combined. Stir in nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Spread crumbled bacon evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
- Gently pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese, ensuring even distribution.
- Place the pie dish on a baking sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden brown. The center should be just set – a slight wobble is fine, as it will continue to set as it cools.
- Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
