Ingredients:

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Crushed peppermint candies, for garnish (about 1/4 cup)

Instructions:

  1. Line the 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, allowing excess to hang over the sides for easy removal later.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until set.
  5. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Stir in the peppermint extract.
  6. Once the fudge is set, pour the melted white chocolate over the top and spread evenly. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top for decoration.
  7. Return the dish to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to firm up the topping. Use the parchment overhang to lift the fudge out and cut into squares.
