Ingredients:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Crushed peppermint candies, for garnish (about 1/4 cup)
Instructions:
- Line the 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, allowing excess to hang over the sides for easy removal later.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until set.
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Stir in the peppermint extract.
- Once the fudge is set, pour the melted white chocolate over the top and spread evenly. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top for decoration.
- Return the dish to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to firm up the topping. Use the parchment overhang to lift the fudge out and cut into squares.
