  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp or 7 g) instant yeast
  • 1 tsp (5 g) salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) ground cinnamon
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp (30-45 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for approximately 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm area for about 10 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest.
  7. After the dough has rested, roll it into a large rectangle (about 12x18 inches).
  8. Spread an even layer of the brown sugar mixture over the dough.
  9. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.
  10. Slice the log into 12 even pieces.
  11. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla until well combined.
  14. Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately.
