Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh kale, stems removed (approximately 67g)
  • 1 medium ripe banana, sliced (approximately 118g)
  • 1 small apple, cored and chopped (approximately 182g)
  • 1 cup coconut water (approximately 240ml)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (approximately 12g)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, approximately 21g)

Instructions:

  1. Remove stems from kale and wash thoroughly.
  2. Peel and slice the banana.
  3. Core and chop the apple into small pieces.
  4. In the blender, add kale, banana, apple, coconut water, and chia seeds.
  5. Blend on high speed until smooth, approximately 30-60 seconds.
  6. Taste the smoothie; if desired, add honey or maple syrup for sweetness and blend again.
  7. Pour into a glass. Optionally, garnish with a slice of apple or a sprig of kale.
