Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh kale, stems removed (approximately 67g)
- 1 medium ripe banana, sliced (approximately 118g)
- 1 small apple, cored and chopped (approximately 182g)
- 1 cup coconut water (approximately 240ml)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (approximately 12g)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, approximately 21g)
Instructions:
- Remove stems from kale and wash thoroughly.
- Peel and slice the banana.
- Core and chop the apple into small pieces.
- In the blender, add kale, banana, apple, coconut water, and chia seeds.
- Blend on high speed until smooth, approximately 30-60 seconds.
- Taste the smoothie; if desired, add honey or maple syrup for sweetness and blend again.
- Pour into a glass. Optionally, garnish with a slice of apple or a sprig of kale.
