Ingredients:
- 1 lb pre-made pizza dough, room temperature
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup thick marinara sauce
- 1.5 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices pepperoni, cut into small hearts
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). On a lightly floured surface, use a rolling pin to flatten the room-temperature dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Use a 3-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter to punch out shapes from the dough. Place the hearts onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Whisk the garlic powder into the olive oil. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the edges of each heart to ensure a golden, flavorful crust.
- Spread 1-2 teaspoons of marinara sauce in the center of each heart, leaving a small border for the crust to rise.
- Top each pizza with approximately 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella and place two pepperoni hearts in the center. Sprinkle with dried oregano.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the edges reach a deep golden brown.
