Ingredients:

  • 4 (4-6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup (optional). Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil (if using).
  4. Brush about half of the honey glaze evenly over the salmon fillets. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  5. During the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, brush the salmon with the remaining honey glaze. This creates a beautiful, glossy finish.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions (if using). Serve immediately. This delicious honey on salmon recipe is a great and quick meal.
