Ingredients:
- 4 (4-6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup (optional). Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil (if using).
- Brush about half of the honey glaze evenly over the salmon fillets. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- During the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, brush the salmon with the remaining honey glaze. This creates a beautiful, glossy finish.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions (if using). Serve immediately. This delicious honey on salmon recipe is a great and quick meal.
