Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes (approximately 1.5 kg)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (45 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (5 g)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (2 g)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (2 g)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (2 g)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut into even fries, about ½ inch thick.
  2. Place cut fries in a large bowl filled with cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  5. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
