Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe medium pears (e.g., Bartlett or Anjou)
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup (35g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash and dry the pears. Cut them in half lengthwise and remove the core with a spoon or melon baller.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, melted butter, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up, and pour the maple mixture over the pears, making sure they are well coated.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and caramelized.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, garnished with chopped nuts and fresh mint if desired.
