- 3 ripe bananas (about 1.5 cups mashed or 375 grams)
- 1/3 cup (75 grams) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon (6 grams) baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (125 grams) all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/2 cup (75 grams) chopped walnuts or pecans
- Optional: 1/2 cup (90 grams) chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease the loaf pan or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, vanilla extract, and beaten egg into the mashed bananas.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Mix in the granulated sugar and any optional add-ins (nuts or chocolate chips).
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
