Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground turkey (preferably lean)
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) breadcrumbs (dry or panko)
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup (240 ml) marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, basil, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to help set.
  5. Form the mixture into meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Serve with marinara sauce and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
