Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended for flavor)
- 1/2 lb (225g) ground pork
- 1 cup (120g) breadcrumbs (Italian-style, seasoned)
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (whole or 2%)
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup / 75g)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: Pinch of red pepper flakes (for a bit of a kick!)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional).
- In a large bowl, gently combine all meatball mixture ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Using your hands or a spoon, form meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Place the meatballs evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly drizzle the meatballs with olive oil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and lightly browned. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
