Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the tough ends of the asparagus. Snap them off – the asparagus will naturally break where the tender part begins.
- Place the asparagus in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.
- Arrange the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender-crisp and slightly browned. Shake the basket halfway through for even cooking. Check for doneness – it should bend slightly but not be limp.
- Remove the asparagus from the air fryer and immediately drizzle with fresh lemon juice (if using). Serve hot.
