Ingredients:
- 2 medium boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb or 450 grams)
- Salt to taste (about 1 teaspoon)
- Black pepper to taste (about ½ teaspoon)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or unsalted butter (15 ml)
- 1 cup chicken broth or water (240 ml)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor
Instructions:
- Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour in the chicken broth or water. Bring to a simmer, then cover with a lid.
- Let the chicken cook for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken, let it rest for 5 minutes, then use forks or a hand mixer on low to shred the meat.
