Ingredients:
- 1 cup (150g) fresh blueberries
- 1 cup (240ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups (960ml) cold water
- 1 cup (about 30g) fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices and extra mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a blender, combine blueberries and a quarter cup of water.
- Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher to remove solids.
- In the large pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar.
- Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add the remaining cold water and mix.
- Add the strained blueberry puree to the lemonade mixture.
- Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently crush mint leaves and add them to the pitcher.
- Stir to incorporate all ingredients.
- Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill.
- Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs if desired.
