Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (150g) fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup (240ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups (960ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (about 30g) fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Lemon slices and extra mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine blueberries and a quarter cup of water.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher to remove solids.
  4. In the large pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar.
  5. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  6. Add the remaining cold water and mix.
  7. Add the strained blueberry puree to the lemonade mixture.
  8. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently crush mint leaves and add them to the pitcher.
  9. Stir to incorporate all ingredients.
  10. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  11. Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs if desired.
