Ingredients:

  • 12 large pretzel rods (approximately 6 inches long)
  • 12 ounces (340g) milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) vegetable shortening (optional)
  • 24 small pretzel twists
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 12 red M&Ms or small red candies
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gently melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave with vegetable shortening until smooth. If microwaving, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between.
  2. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Lift and gently tap off excess.
  3. Place the chocolate-covered pretzel on a baking sheet. Immediately press two pretzel twists into the top to resemble antlers.
  4. Affix two candy eyes and one red M&M to the chocolate-covered pretzel to create the reindeer's face.
  5. Sprinkle with sprinkles before the chocolate sets, if desired.
  6. Refrigerate the pretzels for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm and set.
  7. Serve and enjoy these delicious christmas treats for kids once the chocolate has hardened!
