Ingredients:
- 12 large pretzel rods (approximately 6 inches long)
- 12 ounces (340g) milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) vegetable shortening (optional)
- 24 small pretzel twists
- 24 candy eyes
- 12 red M&Ms or small red candies
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
- Gently melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave with vegetable shortening until smooth. If microwaving, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between.
- Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Lift and gently tap off excess.
- Place the chocolate-covered pretzel on a baking sheet. Immediately press two pretzel twists into the top to resemble antlers.
- Affix two candy eyes and one red M&M to the chocolate-covered pretzel to create the reindeer's face.
- Sprinkle with sprinkles before the chocolate sets, if desired.
- Refrigerate the pretzels for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm and set.
- Serve and enjoy these delicious christmas treats for kids once the chocolate has hardened!
