Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (45g)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (2.5ml)
- 2 large eggs (100g)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or other mix-ins (50g)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition until smooth and glossy.
- Gently fold in flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If using, stir in chocolate chips, nuts, or other desired mix-ins.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.
