Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Grate the fresh ginger into a pulp-like consistency and mince the garlic cloves finely.
  2. Combine the reduced-sodium soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar in a medium mixing bowl and whisk vigorously until the sugar granules are completely dissolved.
  3. Slowly stream in the olive oil while whisking to mix it in (the oil will separate again as it stands, so re-whisk before pouring).
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and onion powder until the mixture is uniform.
  5. Place your chosen cut of beef in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag, pour the marinade over the meat, squeeze out all excess air, and seal.
  6. Refrigerate and marinate for 2 to 12 hours.
  7. Pat the steak slightly with a paper towel to remove excess liquid before cooking.
