Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, measure out all of the spices.
- Add all ingredients to the bowl and mix thoroughly with a whisk or fork until well combined.
- Taste the seasoning and adjust to your liking. Add more cayenne pepper for heat, or more cumin for a deeper earthy flavor.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. It should last for several months.
- Use approximately 2-3 tablespoons of taco seasoning per pound of ground meat or vegetables. Add to the cooked meat or vegetables along with 1/2 cup of water (more or less, depending on desired consistency) and simmer until the liquid is absorbed.
