Ingredients:

  • 10 ounces fresh spinach, washed and dried
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Spread almonds on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven, or in a dry skillet until lightly golden.
  2. In a large bowl, combine spinach, strawberries, red onion (if using), and toasted almonds.
  3. In a small bowl or jar, whisk together vegetable oil, white vinegar, sugar, poppy seeds, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the poppy seed dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat. Serve immediately.
