Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) Bush
  • s Vegetarian Baked Beans (425 g)
  • 1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup / 150 g)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5 g)
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper (2 g)
  • Salt to taste (about ¼ teaspoon or 1 g)
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Dice the onion and mince the garlic, measuring out the spices.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the Bushs Vegetarian Baked Beans to the skillet. Stir in brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt to taste.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let the beans simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and heated through.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired. Serve warm as a side dish or a main course.
