Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Cooked jasmine rice or steamed rice
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Additional sliced green onions, for garnish
- Fresh lettuce leaves, for wrapping
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, chopped green onions, and black pepper.
- Place the thinly sliced beef in a zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring it's thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes, letting it brown before stirring, until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions. Serve with rice and lettuce leaves for wrapping.
