Ingredients:
- Ice cubes
- 1.5 oz (45 ml) Tequila (Blanco/Silver is recommended)
- 1 oz (30 ml) Amaretto Liqueur (e.g., Disaronno)
- 0.5 oz (15 ml) Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
- 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- Lime wedge, for garnish
- Salt or sugar for rimming the glass (optional)
Instructions:
- If desired, rim the glass with salt or sugar. Moisten the rim with a lime wedge, then dip it into a plate of salt/sugar.
- Add ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Pour tequila, amaretto, Cointreau, and lime juice into the shaker.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well chilled.
- Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita into the glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
