Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cooked turkey breast, sliced
- 4 slices of whole-grain bread
- 2 slices of Swiss cheese
- 4 leaves of romaine lettuce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups turkey or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour until smooth and bubbly (about 2 minutes).
- Gradually add broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread in the pan.
- Layer grilled turkey, cheese, and lettuce.
- Top with remaining bread slices and grill until golden brown (3-4 minutes per side).
- Remove sandwiches from the grill and cut them in half.
- Drizzle with warm gravy before serving.
