Ingredients:

  • 1 large loaf Italian bread or baguette (approx. 24 inches long), split lengthwise
  • ½ cup (1 stick; 113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups (226g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (113g) shredded provolone cheese
  • ½ cup (57g) grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Split the loaf horizontally.
  2. In a small saucepan or microwave, melt the butter. Add minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Using a pastry brush or spoon, generously spread the garlic butter over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies!
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheese evenly over the garlic buttered bread.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (if using). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown. Keep a close eye; ovens vary.
  6. Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This cheesy garlic bread recipe is best served warm.
