Ingredients:
- 1 (5 ounce / 142g) can tuna in water or oil, drained
- 2 tablespoons / 30ml mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon / 15ml finely diced celery
- 1 tablespoon / 15ml finely diced red onion
- 1 teaspoon / 5ml Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5ml lemon juice
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 2 slices of bread
- Optional: Lettuce, sliced tomato, cucumber, or sprouts
Instructions:
- Drain the tuna thoroughly. Flake it apart with a fork in the mixing bowl.
- Add the mayonnaise, celery, red onion, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the tuna.
- Gently mix all the ingredients until well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Toast the bread to your liking.
- Spread the tuna salad evenly on one slice of toasted bread.
- If desired, layer lettuce, tomato, cucumber, or sprouts on top of the tuna salad.
- Place the other slice of toasted bread on top.
- Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
